Decay Of The Flowers (Series)
DESCRIPTION
‘Decay Of The Flowers’ is a project where I create floral portraits in a decaying condition. I want to show flowers as a graceful object close to death. Their state is certain but often dismissed, as it is uncomfortable to be reminded about. I treat them in the same manner as I would a person in from of the camera. I want each and every one of them to have their own personality and story to tell. This is why I chose to photograph them decaying rather than fresh. I feel that through the process of ageing they build their own style and identity. They have lost their youth but gain something much more interesting and unique. They have developed a sense of majesty of their past.
AUTHOR
I am photographer specializing in portraiture and still life. I grew up in Poland, where taking photographs to me was a way to explore the reality around me. In 2004 I move to London where my journey with photography has begun in a wider spectrum. Diversity of the surroundings made me want to transform photography from hobby into vocation. In 2014 I graduated in Fine Art Photography from London Metropolitan University and started working as a professional photographer, dedicating lots of time to personal projects and research. Working on location I used the same principals but instead bringing the subject to the studio I recreated the studio in the subject’s natural environment.
