Besides photographer I'm also a poet. Sometimes they reinforce each other. About my minimalistic photographic series of Dutch scenery I wrote a minimalist poem on the underlying idea of what fine art photography means to me:
Fine art photography
Interpretation
of a
moment
that never
existed
before it
disappeared.
In this series I've searched for objects along the coast in the region where I live. Close to home and small, because of all the travel restrictions due to the Corona virus, the world became smaller. To emphasis this I didn't choose far horizons with famous locations like the Zeeland Bridge, Delta Works or iconic lighthouses, but subjects like bollards, breakwaters, groynes, jetty's, wrecks just in their loneliness and simplicity.
This series is also an escape from reality, this was a tough year and at times I felt the need to escape the harshness and create my own world. A personal poetic journey into Fine Art Minimalism.
