DESCRIPTION
Outcast is an on going series that explores dealing with the loneliness we experience as humans.
The subject is covered to remove the identity which generalises the experience for the viewer, while working with sombre, natural landscapes to portray a feeling of isolation.
There are common themes throughout each image including, vulnerability, existentialism, and the vastness of nature.
The inspiration for the series was to create a sense of togetherness in our loneliness.
AUTHOR
Nathan Milner is a self taught fine art portrait photographer based out of Melbourne, Australia who has been working in the industry since 2009. He has spent the past four years focusing on fine art portraiture refining his distinctive style to what you see today.
He creates images which are sometimes confronting but always subtle and simplistic.
Nathan has an attention to detail in his images and a unique way of capturing them bringing the attention solely back to the subject.
Through his work, which is influenced by mental health, he shares personal and relatable stories finding beauty and inspiration in the dark, constantly exploring our common fears and vulnerabilities we as humans experience.
Having always had a connection to nature, he is drawn to dark, sombre and isolating landscapes to create his haunting images.
