OPHELIA & ME (Single)
DESCRIPTION
My Ophelia lies in an apparent suspension of space and time, a life packaging that does not contemplate any type of separate collection for emotions, feelings, aspirations, joys, pains and regrets of a life that is too short or too long, full or empty. Ophelia & Me photographs precariousness, consumption and waste. Waste and food refusal are human inventions, they do not exist in nature and their quantity is greater the greater the degree of social and economic development of our societies. Ophelia interprets for me the best representation of our time and I use the metaphor as an expressive language. With a disenchanted eye I admire my transfigured body, wrapped in plastic and waste. I think of today's humanity which, anchoring itself to deflated rubber boats, remains prisoner in a suspended time, flowing towards uncertain horizons. I tell this trap with that invasive wave of plastic that is dragging us into the deep and dark waters, where humanity struggles to float. I welcome hope: it is in Ophelia's hand that she clings to Nature, holding the flowers in her fingers. She will still be Mother Nature to make us rediscover the value of just coexistence, which will redeem our future.
