To show future generations the splendor of the glaciers that once shaped our Alps, I photographed the glaciers from their most intimate side. Each picture tells a specific story of a glacier's characteristic. Together they form a construct that documents the diversity, the complex shapes and structures as well as the unique color of the glaciers.
This series is called "Fleeting Glaciers", a homage to the landscape that I have learned to love, but which is disappearing in front of my eyes. This body of work is a portrait of this majestic but fragile and ephemeral world of ice.

I’m Niklas, a Swiss Photographer born in 1998. Currently I’m based in Bern, Switzerland. My photography is focused on documenting raw and untouched places to present nature from its most fascinating sides. Through my pictures I want to raise awareness of the importance to protect and promote natural areas. My specific work on the Swiss glaciers aims to convey the complex structures and shapes of glacial ice and how the changing global climate affects them.
