Dense ground fog in the Palatinate rarely occurs during the summer months. The conditions for this must interact precisely. In addition to high humidity, there is a need for calm and a high pressure area over our heads. If all of this applies, we can experience the freshly green meadows and forests in white spring clothes.
Actually, I wanted to photograph Trifels Castle from a higher mountain that morning. There were a few other photographers on site and they were all focused just on the castle. I wasn't entirely happy with the setting and took a few steps to get a look in the opposite direction. The forest and meadow landscape with the gentle layers of fog fascinated me immediately. I was able to achieve this shot with a slight zoom.
