This body of work is an exploration of the harsh reality and bleak conditions in which miners worked around the area of the North Pennines. It is a very cold and dark environment still littered with the remnants of stories and history.
When walking through this forgotten landscape, you can feel an eerie presence of what was once there, and scanning the area reveals many buildings and structures still standing in situ. In looking at these images I want you to be able to immerse yourself in an experience of the cold, wet environment that was once thriving with life.
