"Devotion" is a composite of numerous photographs taken in Hawaii when I was living there on the island of Maui. It is part of my ongoing series of nudes that includes over 60 pieces to date. "Devotion" is held in the Permanent Collection of Art at the Kinsey Institute in Bloomington, Indiana, founded by world renowned sex researcher, Dr. Alfred Kinsey, along with one of my female nudes.
My nudes, in particular, are created to contribute to my mission to remind us humans, that we are part of the natural world and that we are organic just like every other element of nature and that we are connected to the energy that exists in and around us. We are one with nature. We often separate ourselves from the natural world and because of it have become less in tune with our own selves and with the importance of the interconnectedness of our relationship with the earth and everything that it provides us from the air we breathe, to the food we eat, to the remedies that heal us.
My model is very devoted to his physical well-being and to his deep spiritual practice, hence the title, "Devotion".
