DESCRIPTION
A series of Cyanoytypes from archive made on trips to Baixa Limia, Galicia. The river that crosses the border between Spain and Portugal, Baixa Limia - The river of oblivion, is where the Roman road XVIII ran more than 2000 years ago, passing through several mansions on its long journey between Bracara and Asturica. The Celtic legend says that all the people who cross this river lose their memory. As a man with no religion, traveling through a nature where so diverse religions have cross over got me to ask my self :
Where is the place to please ones´s soul?
In this project I explore the middle ground between life and death, on a borderland that crossovers Celtic pagan myths and holy tales of Christianity. The project is open and on going as of October 2020.
AUTHOR
After spending a decade working at advertising agencies, I ventured out to devote myself into Chemical Photography and Alternative Process upon taking a professional training at GrisArt Escola Internacional de Fotografia Barcelona. I mix Oriental and Occidental traditional printing techniques & materials to create photographic art that sparks emotions. I use natural dyes and physical materials related to the narrative and subject matter to create final artworks.
