This image was taken from Eastport looking across the bay at the small town of Lubec Maine and the bridge connecting it to Campobello Island, Canada.
It was a very cold winter morning with the temperature around -23C and sea smoke rising off the water, which is created by water being exposed to extremely cold air.
The image itself was interesting because this only happens 1-2 times a year but when the birds became startled there were only a few seconds to capture an image that might never occur again.
