The mountain farmer (Series)
DESCRIPTION
The mountain farmers - the last of their kind. A rare glimpse inside the hidden and fast ending world of an old traditional way of life and of a dying culture. The faces of these mountain people tell their stories. They are simple, honest people with some bitterness and a fighting spirit. They capture an almost forgotten way of life in a world that is fast-paced and ever changing, and with that change an era is coming to an end as the children of these farmers have mostly chosen a different path.

For me photography is a great passion.
In 2011 I bought my first camera. On a holiday in Cuba with my wife in 2012 I met a Canadian photographer who invited me to spend some weeks in India. He showed me everything I wanted to know and shared his passion with me. The following years I got badly ill. During that time my passion for photography became stronger and stronger and I used the time to visit a few photography workshop.
About two years ago I have sent a few pictures for a portfolio review to Melissa Farlow a great National Geographic photographer from USA. She helped me a lot to become a better photographer and has invited me to the Missouri Photo Workshop 2016 what is an annual week long photojournalism school based in Lee Hills Hall at the Missouri School of Journalism in Columbia, Missouri. It has been a great experience for me where I met a lot of great photographers from all over the world I could learn from. It was like a dream come true. Until now I never did an exhibition was awarded or got payed for one of my pictures. roland ITALY
