Born in The Hague, the Netherlands, and lived in six countries, Iris lives a life that is always on the move, both literally and figuratively. With an interest in the intricacy of the human psyche and the deeper meanings of life, Iris explores life with curiosity. As a self taught photographer she continuously evolves by executing personal projects, diverse commercial assignments and taking education from master photographers all over the world.
While portraits are the recurring object of her photography, she takes her inspiration from nature and stillness through meditation. In her portraits she seeks connection with the heart and soul. In this she is influenced by the work of Joyce Tenneson, who she also studied under.
Iris currently resides in Bilthoven, the Netherlands, with her husband, two daughters and their three-legged adopted dog.
