The Problem With Face Masks (Series)
DESCRIPTION
It’s hard these days to do street photography without a face mask in the shot, so instead of hiding the fact that 2020’s main fashion accessory was a face mask I decided to put them front and centre and show them in all their glory in a series called The Problem With Face Masks. These street portraits capture a moment in time when the world was stopped in its tracks. When the conversations about the weather suddenly changed to whether to wear a face mask or not, or if you’ve forgot your mask or just plain old lost it before you get on a bus. The face mask has divided opinions, caused confrontations and saved lives - not bad for a fashion accessory.
AUTHOR
My name is Paul Carruthers I am a professional Street\Fine Art photographer based in Devon.
I picked up a camera about 35 years ago after a serious injury.
I used my images to improve my graphic design but soon realised people where talking about my photos held within my designs. So I decided to concentrate solely on my photography, reading and learning as much as I could.
I was approached by a Gallery in The Bluecoat Chambers in Liverpool about thirty years ago to sell my work and the rest as they say is history.
British life Photographer Of The Year
UK' No.1 Street Photographer - Oneeyeland
2nd - Fine Art Photography Awards
Gold Winner - Tokyo International Photo Awards.
2nd - ND Awards
3rd - International Photography Awards
Shortlisted British Photography Awards
