Morocco (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Morocco still retains the authenticity of a country with people who are dedicated to subsisting on little they have, with livestock and visits of wealthy tourists. On the other hand, the landscapes are varied and beautiful, full of contrasts. In the south, the influence of the dry climate is noted apart from the Sahara Desert. The landscapes are arid, sandy, and seem sterile, but no, there is always something that grows with little. The people of the south are open-minded, hospitable, and maintain the traditions more notoriously, maybe because of the influence of the Amazigh culture. The clothing, the construction of the houses with mud, the care of the camels, give it an aspect of authenticity.
AUTHOR
Dr. in botany, I live near Barcelona and I define myself as a restless, observant, critical and multifaceted person.
My work reflects the filtered light of nature. It derives from my three greatest passions, photography, biology and poetry. Starting from this point, I try different disciplines, often blending them together, such as landscape, portraiture, photojournalism, travel and wildlife photography.
In 2014 I produced, with Martí Boada, a photographic exhibition and a book about Yasuní rainforest “Expedición Científica al Amazonas Ecuatorial.” ISBN: 978-84-608-2163-2 and in 2018 I published a book about medicinal plants “Guia Terapèutica Plantes Remeieres, Barcelona, Spain, Ed. Farell” ISBN: 9788492811984
In February 2020 I co-directed a documentary about Ebro Delta, “The Delta’s Drop. An Underwater Future”.
I have photographic personal projects on my webpage, like “The beauty of hair” where Mireia expresses her disagreement and indignation about the stigmatization of female hair. “Anthophila”, photographs of pollen grains and bees posing in a variety of flowers. And “Nepenthes”, the craft process of some guys growing hemp (Cannabis sativa).
I have lectured at conferences such as Smart City Expo 2016 and MedPalyno 2017.
