their walk in dead dust and shadows (Series)
DESCRIPTION
These pictures were taken in the Black Forest in southern Germany on an evening at the end of April this year when it had not rained for several weeks. Normally this is the wettest time of the year in this region, but in recent years the rainfall has been decreasing and more and more problems with persistent drought have arisen. The earth seemed to dissolve and drifted away like fog when it came into contact with the air. To capture this, I used the horses that moved along their trail and only their steps stirred up the dust of the earth.
AUTHOR
Born 1986 in Stuttgart, south Germany. Full-time nurse with employment in various fields of medicine, including geriatric care, oncology and out-of-hospital home care in intensive care. After a burn out, I found 2016 the horse photography as a channel to process what I experienced in the care of sick and dying people and to escape into another world. What fascinates me about horses is their sensitivity and strength in one, their form and elegance and the freedom and vitality they radiate combined with a fragility like life has. This makes them for me a symbol of life and transience which I want to make visible with my photos.
