The Irish Wolfhound; a historical breed, that if not understood, and respected will lose its place in our culture. Bred to hunt large game, and cover long distances, and yet a breed that demonstrates calm, noble strength on a daily basis.
Guardian is a piece of artwork that was thought through at great length. I wanted to create something that didn't focus on the specific animals character, but represented an idea. A breed that is bred for a specific job, and so often is rehomed for demonstrating the very behaviours we once wanted to encourage. This piece is about reflection, about the past, the future, weakness and strength all together, in one simple moment.
These dogs are gentle giants, but every giant needs something to protect and a land to exist in.
