I was asked to celebrate the life of this horse by his owners, the horse was losing his brief fight with aggressive cancer, so could no longer be ridden.
I wanted to portray not only his gentle side, but also his unique colouring, expression and presence and created a variety of styled images alongside my handmade head stalls, drapes and jewels to elevate the photoshoot from 'just a horse' to a Lusitano 'King among horses'
My background is as an equine painter, I adore bringing more opulence and art historical inspiration into my work and spend hours creating my own unique photographic props.
