After spending a few hours hours in a car, I arrived in the West Bali National Park where I was welcomed by this endemic Balinese Black Monkey which was standing in the middle of the forest atop one of the largest trees around. After staring at the horizon he fell asleep as he drifted towards a tranquil slumber in his blanket of leaves. A few minutes after he was sleeping, I aimed my camera at him and took this calm picture of this dreaming monkey. This species of monkey is of particular interest as it is an Balinese endemic subspecies of the Javan Lutang which is the overarching species found only in a few Indonesian islands itself. Furthermore, this species of monkey is consired threatened by extinction with vulnerable being the exact classification according to the IUCN Red List.

As a self-taught photographer and biology student, I aim to appreciate and share the beauty of the natural world through the lens of both art and science. Thus, I vividly enjoy visiting various ecosystems in order to see for myself all I have learned academically and inversely to seek new wonders of life I can then explore through a scientific perspective.

As for now, I am pursuing my bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences at Imperial College London as I hope to develop both the artistic and scientific facets of my love for nature.
