Own photographic templates of load-bearing and structuring architectural details of a Cistercian abbey from the 12th century (San Galgano, southwest of Siena/Tuscany) were fragmented (using computer-assisted image processing), rhythmized and recomposed with a special interest in detail for textures and ornamental qualities and the material used (Travertine) modeled colored.
The crossing square of Carolingian architecture, which was decisive at the time, was also decisive for the choice of paper format for the work.
"... the ornament has become an integral part of the development of
abstract painting (note: pictorial art) of the 20th century”.
Markus Brüderlin, Ornament and Abstraction, Fondation Beyeler, Basel 2001
"The arabesque as a creative means points to the wonderful structure of the world and frees us from the transience of earthly ties, it intoxicates eyes and mind".

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
In my main job I am a neuropsychologist.Since 1973 I have been self-taught and semi-professional in photography; The desire for my photographs to reveal a more personal, subjective interpretation of the subject grew. The intention to express the new, the independent, the generalized and the abstract is now in the foreground. Design aspects are of course indispensable both in the staging, in the process of photography as well as the processing and editing of the image or parts thereof I try to work as authentically as possible and only use my own photographic material in all my work. Over time, the natural landscape or parts of it, also as a still life, became the defining object of my artistic work. Nature seems animated to me and I would like to work out this fragile magic in my pictures. Since 2013, I have had national personal exhibitions on a regular basis or have participated in group exhibitions. I also work photojournalist for regional print media. Prophoto - Photo competition of the print u. Online media 2019 - shortlist.Nomine in Abstrakt FAPA2021/2022.
