Cityscape nominee

These pictures try to capture a bit of the atmosphere that meets you on the alleys of Taranto in southern Italy. Its old districts show a partly quite brutal decay, but at the same time there is also an unexpected playfulness.

Photography has followed me for many years now. It started with mum's old Rolleicord which had its own charm. Now, many thousands of photos later, I can still remember the excitement when the photo rolls were hung up to dry and somehow it's still there. Because even if the time between the picture being taken and being shown is a little shorter today, the same tension is still there -- how did it turn out!
