DESCRIPTION
I come from a city that was founded to build the country's first naval port. I wanted to make the unusual history of my city tangible for myself by combining historical photos from the imperial era and current photos of places that I knew very well from my childhood. My intention is not on portraying historical events or glorifying imperial aspirations, but rather on creating a sense of what it might have been like in these places in the past.
