DESCRIPTION
One day the thought came to me that when I die, my soul will move to another world, and my cat will probably meet me there. I thought that I would like it to be so. I would like him to act as a Guide and show me that world. I would like to talk to him, to see his smile.
At first, this thought seemed naive to me, but then I tracked the feelings that appeared in me, and changed my mind. Suddenly I realized that I was no longer afraid of death and all the accompanying worries were gone. I stopped wanting to leave something behind in this world, I stopped grieving and hiding from myself the idea that I am a temporary guest here and pretending with all my behavior that I am here forever. It was liberating.
The purpose of this photo project is to enable the viewer to assume that his Guide is waiting for him on the other side and this meeting will be wonderful. This may be the first step to freedom
AUTHOR
Nikolay Sizikov (born 1980, Kemerovo) is an art photographer from Russia. His main style is staged compositional photography, which combines the influence of landscape, travel and pet photography. One of the main subjects of his images is cats. Because he works with cats on an ongoing basis, participates in volunteer programs for the protection of animals and has a felinologist diploma.
He has started photography journey since early childhood, and later studied it professionally at the Kemerovo Institute of Arts and Culture.
The main value that he declares in his work is inner freedom. Freedom from fears, doubts, ideals and authorities imposed by society.
Nikolai's works touch emotions, invite the viewer to think, look at familiar topics from different angles and find ideas and ways for changes.
