Blood Sports (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Living in the countryside, I often sit in the quiet of the evening listening to the pop of guns as landowners have “fun” shooting the local wildlife. It wounds my soul to think about beautiful, defenceless creatures going about their lives and suddenly finding themselves mortally wounded, often leaving young behind to starve to death. How would we humans feel if the tables were turned?
AUTHOR
Jo Knight is a self taught photographer based in the English Lake District. She took up photography as a complete novice in 2013 and has since been awarded the title of Master of Print by the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain and been exhibited both in print and online in 22 countries.
In 2020 Jo was the global winner of a photography competition endorsed by 17 of the world's masters of photography and run by the Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique to commemorate the Covid-19 pandemic.
Jo’s pictures are based in nature and the human experience, often marrying her love of wildlife with her portrayal of life’s challenges through the eyes of women. She frequently uses composite photography to create distinctive narratives celebrating girls and telling powerful stories.
