Portrait nominee

At the beginning of the pandemic, the whole world turned upside down and I needed to find a new perspective on photography. I could only find culture and art in books, so I got deeper into reading poetry and browsed through books with the works of my favorite artists. On walks with my dog, I found places where I wanted to take portraits of someone, so I approached my girlfriends and photographed them in the embrace of nature. For the first time, I used an old Russian Helios lens in this photo, which made the photos look even more dreamy. I tried to capture my greatest inspiration and motivation in this photo.

I am a fine art photographer from Slovakia. In my work I try to connect nature, poetry, symbolism and the human element. I try to find beauty in ordinary places and in the people we walk around every day and show the power of the connection between human and nature. There is something mysterious about it, our beginning, our end, the meaning of life.
