Conceptual nominee

A person's painful and sad emotions are dumped and accumulated deep within. One day, when all those emotions are consumed, they disappear and become an empty space. But sometimes it's a problem because it's so empty, and sometimes it's a problem that emotions have been piling up for too long.

I expressed these abstract emotions hidden within human beings through photography.

Shingyu Kang(Born 12, 12, 1991)

KANG Shingyu is graduated from Seoul Institute of the Arts and majored film directing in South Korea. His film works acclaimed and selected from all over 100 festivals in the world. Not film works, but his photo works are got named many exhibition and awards in the world. He is currently active various art area including film, media-art, photo and visual arts.

As a photographer, KANG is skillfully composed nature, human and object. He believes art could change the world. Hence, he created photograph with insomnia theme. His insomnia works made in South Korea and all over the world. He made about 600 insomnia photos past seven years. He is keeping to make insomnia photos.
