Fashion nominee

I was asked by couturier Edwin Oudshoorn to shoot a special project for an event he and his designs were being honored at that was celebrating Zeeland, the southern part of Holland where I was born. I was not given any parameters but wanted to marry the essence of the area with the high fashion looks. I wanted to really think out of the box and not just present a girl standing on a beach while paying homage to my birthplace. The photos each showcase something Zeeland is known for: Wide stretches of windy Beaches, Windmills, Babbelar (a butterscotch candy from the area) and stroopwafels, a caramel wafer cookie and of course traditional Delftware.

Roger treats every job as an adventure, whether he is shooting a model in a hot air balloon over a herd of elephants or racing across the beach chasing his subject to get that perfect shot. He once broke his ankle leaning off a bridge to capture the light in just the right way. He possesses a certain joie de vivre that translates directly to his work. A devout problem solver, he has talked his way out of many situations to get that perfect shot on the go when it was seemingly impossible. His technical consistency is unparalleled and clients would have a hard time finding a nicer person to work with.

Roger's photos were featured in a solo exhibit at the Hotel Regina in Paris during fashion week and has won an Epica Advertising award for his Princess yachts campaign and was finalist in the One Eyeland Fashion awards.

Roger’s work has appeared in magazines such as Vogue Living NL, Vogue (Singapore, Taiwan), Elle, Grazia, Glamour, GQ, Harpers Bazaar, Marie Claire, Esquire, Cosmo, Red, Amica, Oprah, Shape & The NY Times.
