AETERNUM (Series)
DESCRIPTION
When I see ballet dancers on stage, the gracefulness of their movements makes my skin crawl. The elegance with which they dance; how it seems that they can fly on the points of their feet. Dancers evoke passion when they blend their bodies with such seamless grace. The beauty of the position of their bodies, their hands, their feet… invite time to simply stop and admire their effortless and yet perfectly synchronized performance. Hence the idea of immortalized those movements and emotions, providing a space to observe and feel them through photography. Sculpture more like dance can also convey the artist's sensitivity. Both arts are an act of communication, which flows from the inside out looking for a space to touch the soul, a space to say something, to make a point. In this photographic series, the ballet dancers divest themselves of the musical beat and arithmetic time to then blend together with the sculpture and make room for an eternal moment. I intend to bring these two fine arts together and eternalized these ballet movements through the dancers turning into sculptures.
