I have the most vivid dreams, full of colour, sensation and sounds. I often find myself with a recollection of drifting, that feeling of weightlessness in slow motion, bright colours and black holes of darkness. This images evoke the intensity of those lucid dreams and the opulence and mannerism of Renaissance art.
During the pandemic I used an innovative approach of shooting remotely to capture this image, I was able to have full lighting and camera control, to direct posing and specify fabric and garments for each shoot from my own wardrobe, all whilst remaining covid safe in my own home.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
A fine art graduate in 1993, I became established as a portrait painter concentrating on equines. My photography was an important supportive role offering sharp working reference imagery.
Over the last 5 years my practice has become almost exclusively photographic, exploring styled portraiture and evocative images of the horse, sometimes as partners, sometimes alone.
During covid lockdowns I experimented with remote shooting and underwater imagery, something that I have now developed into scenes reminiscent of Renaissance art.
2019 and 2021 Runner Up
Julia Margaret Cameron Awards
Gallery exhibitions 19/20:
