One of the most important elements of my photography has always been research.
Discovering places unknown to most people has always fascinated me and boosted my passion for nature, which is growing every day.
These photos where taken in Iceland, that is definitely one of those landscapes that I consider "home" compared to many others, just because everything there gives me feelings that take me out of reality.
When i explored those areas of the island I was impressed, because I didn't think there were such wild areas where man hasn't been able to reach yet.
I really felt i was in a world that half viking and half fantasy, so this is why in those areas I thought a lot about J.R.R. Tolkien's stories and the world of Nordic mythology.
So this is my project about Jǫtunheimr, the land of giants but above all the land of ice.

Hello everyone! I am Federico, I am from Rome, and I am a landscape photographer. the search for contact with nature, with the landscape that i'm living, is crucial to me: the landscape photographer has a strong intimate contact with the landscape that faces; he loves him and hates him at the same time, respects him and knows that in the end he will give him the result he is looking for. This is what I try to comunicate: the connection with what we are photographing and making it before we even take the camera in hand. Because at the bottom of each person, in the end, there is a landscape.
