Sometimes we make photographs to understand what our lives mean to us (Single)
DESCRIPTION
After a long freezing night, a new day came with the darkness disappearing of itself. Even the stars - shining down so bright just moments ago - must pass. It was then I thought of Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s quote, “The earth is art, the photographer is only a witness”. This photograph of Mount Bromo was taken in 2016, three years before it erupted, forcing the authority to prohibit visitors within a 1-kilometer radius from the park’s craters. Before 20th century industrialization, volcanoes were a primary driver of regional temperature changes over timescales of two or three decades. Today, human-induced climate change is the only global warming event of the past 2,000 years.
