DESCRIPTION
In our modern-day lives, our connection with nature often becomes distorted, disconnected or interfered with when we engage with modern society and all of its man-made distractions.
This series reminds us of the fact that we are organic beings, composed of natural elements - no different from everything else in nature.
Beyond the physical, the metaphysical elements of human existence are often ignored or undetected by many humans. This series informs the viewer that there is also an element of our lives that goes beyond what we see, hear, and touch.
It is what we feel.
AUTHOR
Carolyn Quan is an award-winning, internationally-collected, photo-based fine artist.
Her artwork has been shown in Mexico, Canada, Brazil, and throughout the U.S. Her art is in private collections around the world including Australia, Germany, Canada, the U.S., and Japan, and is held in the permanent art collection of the Kinsey Institute (2 pieces) founded by world-renowned sex researcher, Dr. Alfred Kinsey, in Bloomington, Indiana.
She has been featured in over 20 publications as well as on radio and television, and in a documentary film. She is the recipient of numerous awards including 18 American Art Awards since 2012, and art festival awards in Chicago (x 2), Beverly Hills, St. George, La Quinta, and San Francisco.
She is currently based in the American Southwest in Palm Springs, CA.
