A true hero is one who acknowledges fear and gets on with the job. By that definition, every woman in the world qualifies for hero status.

Miguel Pérez was born in San Jose, California; As the son of a middleweight boxing, lounge singing, big dreaming father and a music loving, green thumbed, black belt Catholic mother, he enjoyed a childhood filled with colorful people, unforgettable melodies, Catholic dogma and practical lessons in self defense. He can trace his love of photography to a high school photography teacher named Vincent Bernucci, who was a noted Bay Area street photographer. Perhaps the Mr. Bernucci saw something in Miguel that no one else did, because he began assigning photo projects to the 9th grader. Miguel’s love of the medium has sustained to this very day.
