Modern Matryoshka (Single)
DESCRIPTION
I grew up with Russian influences and as a child I had many different matryoshka dolls. All of them were very traditional. At some point I asked myself what a modern matryoshka might look like today? I thought back to the women's movement in the 1970s. Which is why I chose an original 70s wallpaper as the background. As a contrast: I chose very modern clothes. A leather jacket that only men wore at the time. Bluish short hair and a strong pose of the hands. To show what women achieved during the last decades. Each matryoshka represents a generation: Grandmother, mother, daughter, and the smallest one is the granddaughter. Which will get its own personality over the years.
