Bees and beekeeping has been a part of human culture for thousands of years. Besides the highly prized honey, the intricate ways of organizing as a collective has been subject to much speculation, reflection and wonder with regards to hierarchies among humans.
Today bees and other pollinators are facing a series of challenges in the modern landscape of agriculture, causing colonies to collapse and an overall decline in numbers caused by pollen scarcity, disease and pesticides. Problems which can be mitigated through awareness among lawmakers and in the public.
