"Timeless Ghost Hotel" was born from a common desire of the artist Laurent Depaepe and the hotel La Pietra in L'Ile-Rousse: to celebrate the 60th anniversary of this historic establishment in Corsica, with its particular architecture and decoration. , by an original photographic series.
Laurent Depaepe imagined nine shots, representing a gallery of six characters mysteriously linked, timeless, wandering and solitary souls, populating the different areas of the hotel in search of inspiration, perhaps waiting for a to be loved or hoping for a more colorful horizon.
Each of these characters is represented alone in a room, elegant and neat, their gaze uncertain, turned towards an indefinable distance within this hotel surrounded by the sea and its infinite blue vanishing line. The marine element is mixed with the warm and muted lighting of the street lamps, the soft and silky textures of the clothes and the decorations, giving the whole series a feeling of strange vagueness, of Spleen refined.
