With my new project „The White Tread“ I decided to create a new dimension:
the connection of women and religiosity in just one photo - and only with the focus on the deeply human and personal, on longings, on experiences, on feelings, this without signs, without rituals, without titles. Pure people, pure women - believing, longing and standing in life. 20 portraits - 20 religions.
Religions are not mentioned among the portraits of women. Each woman was photographed on the neutral background in a dress specially sewn for the project.
There are texts that tell stories of each woman and religion. But no one can make a connection between the texts and images. The texts were written from a conversation with the author Antje-Maria Lochthofen, who talked with every woman about her personality and her religion.
