Portrait nominee

The series "NOT CONCEPTUAL: LIFE" portrays artists who move beyond stereotypical and social role models. Instead, they are guided by their own convictions.

I have deliberately used iconographic photographs from the recent decades to contextualize them with a new narrative:

"UNREST, CONFLICT AND WAR BEGIN ON THE INSIDE OF US.
WHEN WE UNDERSTAND THAT WE ARE ALLOWED TO APPEAR OUTWARDLY
AS WE FEEL ON THE INSIDE, WE ARE BALANCED.
IN THE TRUEST SENSE OF WORD.
WHEN WE ARE ABLE TO PERCEIVE OUR NEEDS AND FULFILL THEM,
WE FILL OURSELVES WITH JOY, GRATITUDE, RELAXATION, SECURITY ...
AND ARE INSTANTALY ABLE TO CREATE THIS ALSO ON THE OUTSIDE OF US."


I accompanied eight artists in their daily professional life and took two documentary photos and a portrait on location. Additionally, I made two portraits of each in the photo studio and a short moving image clip. The images and the video clip are completed by a quote from each artist.

I am a Berlin based photographer.

My content focus is on the topic of self-empathy and self-determination, for their an essential key to contentment.
​I make these themes in my portraits visible as aesthetically pleasing as possible.

My comissioned work and campaigns are used for press andmarketing amtters.
My independently portrait series are exhibited in selected locations and publisjed in international photography magazines.

My background is in the film industry. Since I have always been fascinated by photography and moving images, I consider myself very lucky to have had the opportunity to study at the renowned University of Television and Film in Munich.

I am also very grateful to be a board member of the network association Women In Film And Television since 2018 and to contribute to the industry.
