In COVID times, only one parent can stay inside the pediatric ward with his child while they are hospitalized. The other parent is allowed to visit once per day for no more than half an hour.
During the rest of the day, I found myself outside the hospital waiting for my visitation time. Meanwhile, my son was inside having check ups and invasive exams because he has a rare genetic disease.
I wanted to stay as close as possible to him even while being outside.
These images represent my wait, suspended in time.
A suspension in time that I found in the winter sea, in the benches of terraces overlooking the sea, in the rainy day’s soft light and in the boats waiting to sail out to sea.
A gaze towards the outside to represent my “here and now” made of faded colors and endless hours.
