The title comes from a Chinese word, meaning: “always feel happy and satisfying about what you already have.” To produce this project, I shot the objects through a glass brick, like a second lens — a filter. That’s how I communicate with the surrounding through this art project.
ZhiZuChangLe is my family quote. It connects with a social issue called filter bubble, a serious problem in the internet world. As social medias highly developed, they always promotes posts related to what individual user like or want to see instead of a broader selection. Forced to stay in their comfort zoom, audience can easily stay happy, rarely thinking about getting progress in their life. This social phenomenon is exactly the opposite of my family quote. Happy life style makes us stop making progress to achieve self-actualization.
In this project, the glass brick is like the internet block which prevent us from receiving a variety of information. When we look throughout the glass brick to the world, we can only have a limited sight view. We are trapped in this small semitransparent cube. Every thing in our eyes is covered by a foggy filter, losing the charm or horror of its reality.
