Triangle (Single)
DESCRIPTION
Triangle is an overhead view of the skate park in St Kilda. One of the best - and probably most colourful - skateparks in Victoria has a great location on a triangle jutting out into Port Phillip bay near the St Kilda Marina. All the elements are linked together to create a great flow. It includes a variety of trannys, banks, rollovers and bowls. The park has granite coping which provides very fast grinding. The image was deliberately captured around midday, with the sun close to overhead, to avoid distracting shadows allowing the colours to shine through. A lone skateboarder adds a small touch of reality to an otherwise dreamlike image.
AUTHOR
Peter Harlow is an abstract landscape photographer, beginning his practice a little over two years ago. His work explores how the point from which we view the world affects our point of view.
From a viewpoint of less than 50 metres above the surface, nature paints its own abstract images, unique and perfect. These images are constantly changing with the wind, rain and seasons. In this sense, his photographs also represent impermanence and fragility.
By presenting a different view of the landscape, his intention is to cause you to pause, consider and reflect on the changing and impermanent beauty of nature.
