The Hitch is a thriller narrating a conflict of anxiety, ego and confrontation devised by the mentoring and attacking character of the crow. This editorial feature incorporates 1960s vintage styling with a contemporary touch to create an abstract inspired by Hitchcock's 1963 film, THE BIRDS. The Hitch is both a reference to Hitchcock’s name and wordplay to the idea of “hatching” from an egg and transforming. Nota bene, the filmmaker himself suffered from ovophobia – the fear of eggs. As he once told his interviewer: “I’m frightened of eggs, worse than frightened, they revolt me. That white round thing without any holes … have you ever seen anything more revolting than an egg yolk breaking and spilling its yellow liquid? Blood is jolly, red. But egg yolk is yellow, revolting. I’ve never tasted it”.
