The scarf, a symbol of style and elegance, represents also feelings and emotions. In this work the scarf is used as a metaphor for a partner in life.
The titles of the individual photographs recall specific periods in the life of a couple. Moments burned into memory that ignite our feelings and emotions. The blurred image of the scarf questions also our detailed memories of these moments, sometimes slightly occulted, sometimes idealized.
The visuals create a calm atmosphere through soft shapes and a warm color palette, inviting the viewer to rest a moment and being absorbed in this scenery. The eye continuous to wander around and explore the nuances of light and shadow similar to detecting shapes and figures in a cloudy sky and finally the viewer can liaise with his own “mementos”.
This project fits also perfectly well in the rest of my body. The images are definitely born from a photographic origin but open a dialogue that reminds the viewer of abstract paintings.
