Plastic didn't go into mass production until after WW2 and again in the 1960's yet the problem of plastic waste in our oceans has now become so bad that there is currently an island of floating plastic 3 times the size of France in the middle of the Pacific.
Most the plastic used in this shoot was picked up from coastlines and waterways in the UK.
