DESCRIPTION
This photo is about a union of two persons. We dive into each other entering into a relationship. No more me and you. There is something mixed — we.
AUTHOR
Evgeniya Dovgalyuk is a photographer who works with digital photography.
Photography takes up most of her life. Having started shooting on film at 18 she fell in love with the process of photography, and continues to do so now, but with a digital camera. Evgeniya is self-taught. She studied photography from books and online courses.
At the beginning of her photographic journey, Evgeniya often took a camera and walked alone in her native city. She was fascinated by the emptiness, and silence of the distant streets, and the feeling of unity with the camera and the city. Now the feeling of emptiness and melancholy also inspire Evgeniya and are the main themes in her work.
In March 2022 Evgeniya left her native country because of the war. In her works, she explores the topic of emigration and her own attitude toward it. She attempts to convey what she feels having lost her home, through photography.
Exhibitions:
2023: Open Art / Art Number 23, Barcelona, Spain
2023: Film Photography / UGallery, Tbilisi, Georgia
