In addition to the visual research on the imprint given by Merisi in his paintings,I thoroughly investigated the historical, social and symbolic context of the works, bringing them back in a modern key, sometimes distorting them, sometimes enriching them, but always remaining faithful to the aesthetics classic and the masterful Caravaggio atmospheres.
In "San Girolamo scrivente" I started from the concept of art and knowledge, crushed by memento mori "bills to pay". We remain focused on duties by postponing our encounter with knowledge and art. But knowledge, art and duties have infinite life,we don't. We must choose carefully how to use our time,we have little of it. The transience of human time compared to the eternity is rendered by the slight blurring of the subject's face, which by calculating accounts disappears without becoming part of knowledge and art.
What other symbols will you find in the other photographic works? What places in your mind does each image take you to? you'll find many stories in each of them, such as the ethereal conviviality in Bacchus. But if you look deeply you could also find your story, your strength in Animus Liber, your peace in complementarity Narcissus. Now take a deep Breath and look at you, you too are becoming art.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
I am an Italian photographer born in 1991, I love art and the profound communication that derives from it.
In 2019 I participated in a photo contest "Images and Words", after this I was asked to exhibit my photographic works in Rome at Palazzo Ferrajoli at the "Images on display" event. In January 2023 I participated in an exhibition at the MIIT (Turin contemporary art museum) presenting reinterpretations of Caravaggio paintings in a photographic key.
I firmly believe that art can open people's minds and hearts, making the exchange of ideas and sensations a great enrichment. Art can make the world a better place.
