I took this photo back in Jan. 2022, I solo hiked Volcano Acatenango a dormant volcano that stands directly next to Volcan de Fuego. I went to bed quite early as the clouds fully engulfed both peaks. I could still hear and feel the rumbles as Fuego kept erupting. Around midnight I was awoken by another blast and heard some light murmuring between others. I peaked my head out of the tent, it was nice and cold. I could see some stars and it seemed to keep getting more and more clear out. I finally pulled myself out of bed and watched in complete awe as Fuego erupted a few times throughout the next two hours. I was lucky enough to catch this eruption here with the right lens and the right settings.
Experiencing mother nature in its rawest forms is something I find to be, one of the most exhilarating things one can experience. It's what drives my passion for hiking and finding some of the most beautiful and surreal places on Earth. Here once again is Volcán de Fuego in all its glory.
