Walking the High Line (Series)
DESCRIPTION
This series of photographs, titled "Walking the High Line," is a group of images documenting the High Line through seasonal changes. The work also reflects the time passed by another photographer, Joel Sternfeld, whose project shares the same title and was finished in 2002. These images were published to assist in helping the Friends of The High Line show what the space had become and the potential it holds if transformed into a park. Twenty years later, I decided to take the same eight-by-ten camera and make photographs along it to see the change, not just on the High Line but also on what surrounds its peripheral. These images function as narrative documentation of the park but are also a testament to Piet Oulof's planning and the High Line's team of gardeners.
