The first time you really get to observe someone is truly a transformative experience. It is intimate to observe someone so closely. Seeing the curves when they lay down or the freckles on their skin knowing that you are the only one in the world seeing this.
My photos are designed to give the viewer a look into this moment through closely cropped images of my subject's body, purposefully obscuring the subject and transforming his features into art.
The images also express feelings of insecurity fueled by both the camera being present in this intimate moment as well as the deconstruction of the body through cropping.
