The Leonhardifahrt or Leonhard ride is a procession with horses that is part of the customs in Old Bavaria and Western Austria. It takes place in honour of St. Leonhard of Limoges (6th century) on his memorial day, 6 November, or a neighboring weekend.
In Bad Tölz last year more than 80 carriages with magnificently decorated wagons drove through the town to the Kalvarienberg. The pilgrims are wearing their festive costumes; children, virgins, married women in shawls as well as marksmen, brass bands and marching bands and, last but not least, the town councillors, dressed up in frock coats and top hats, celebrating a festive service there with the clergy.

I am a Dutch amateur photographer, living in southern Germany, with a focus on landscape and travel photography.
Early on, I had a camera pressed into my hands at home: an Agfa folding camera with a black-and-white film in it. During holidays, my father gave me my first lessons in photography; about technique and composition.
With some regularity, I have been going on photo trips in recent years. Very instructive and I owe my photo results mainly to the accompanying professional photographers and learning from other participants. Their tips and encouragement are a source of inspiration.
This has fuelled my enthusiasm for landscape photography in particular in recent years. For beautiful light and a rugged landscape, I like to go out.
In the near future, I also want to develop further in reportage photography.
