This series of works analyses and explores Dejeneffe's personal experiences during the pandemic.
Through post-production, Dejeneffe transforms seemingly commonplace figures and objects into striking subjects in dreamlike scenes. Historically, photography is commonly considered a means to an end or objective documentation of beings in space. Dejeneffe's photography, however, is a fine art. By instilling meaningful intentions and creatively manipulating her subjects, her illusionary images come to life and exist outside the purely aesthetic realm.
Inspired by philosophy and inner work, Dejeneffe's series provides a pictorial commentary on the subconscious. The artist condenses difficult emotions into manageable vessels through colour, light, and form while maintaining the subject's sincerity.
